The older I get, the more I question whether that dream is still realistic for the average person.
Why I Stay on Disability
I also explain why I remain on disability. It's not because I don't want to work—it's because I'm afraid of losing the benefits that help me survive. If I take a job and it doesn't work out, I could lose my disability income along with my Medicare and Medicaid. That's a huge risk when so many jobs don't provide affordable healthcare or long-term stability.
The Rising Cost of Simply Surviving
Another topic I discuss is how I feel the current financial system keeps people struggling. In my opinion, we're expected to pay for nearly every basic necessity in life, including housing, food, healthcare, insurance, water, and even expenses after someone passes away. Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard people work, they're constantly trying to catch up instead of getting ahead.
AI, Jobs, and Financial Uncertainty
I also talk about the changing job market and how AI is transforming the workforce. Many people have college degrees, years of experience, or even their own businesses, yet they're still struggling financially. I've experienced what it feels like to put in countless hours trying to build something for yourself and still not see the financial results you hoped for. That's why so many people are questioning the traditional path to success.
Is Retirement Still Possible?
Finally, I share why I believe retirement has become out of reach for many Americans. I see people in their 70s and even 80s still working because they simply can't afford to stop. To me, that raises serious questions about whether the system is truly designed to help ordinary people succeed. These are my personal thoughts and experiences, and I wanted to have an honest conversation about the financial, emotional, and economic challenges so many of us are facing today.
