Birthday Dinner, Staples Planner Shopping & Life Updates - Getting My Life Organized One Planner at a Time

In this vlog, I took you along with me as I headed to Staples to pick up my new Blue Sky planner for 2026–2027. Every year, buying a new physical planner is an important tradition for me because it helps me stay organized and maintain structure in my daily life.
Before my trip to Staples, I shared a little about my birthday celebration on June 15th. For my birthday, I visited the Cheesecake Factory for the first time. I accidentally ordered a SkinnyLicious pasta dish from the healthier menu, and honestly, I wasn't a fan of it. Thankfully, I ended up ordering shrimp Alfredo, which I enjoyed much more. To top off the meal, I treated myself to an Oreo cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious.
Once I arrived at Staples, I picked up my favorite planner, the Blue Sky Weekly and Monthly Planning Calendar. I paid $19.99 for it, and I was excited to start using it for the upcoming year. One of the reasons I continue to purchase a physical planner every year is because it serves as my main tool for staying mentally organized. It gives me a dedicated place to keep track of appointments, doctor visits, deadlines, and everyday responsibilities.
As someone with ADHD, I find that having a planner makes a huge difference in helping me stay on track. The Blue Sky planner has a large, roomy layout that provides plenty of space for writing, making it easy to see my schedule and important tasks at a glance. It includes both weekly and monthly calendar views, which help me manage my time and stay organized throughout the year.
The planner also comes with several helpful features beyond the calendar pages. It includes a yearly goal-setting section, space for personal information, important dates and contacts, a built-in storage pocket, and a notes section in the back for reminders, lists, and ideas. There are also reference pages with holidays, including Juneteenth, as well as information about the states and their capitals.
For me, this planner is more than just a calendar. It helps me stay focused on my goals, manage a busy schedule, and keep everything in one place. I appreciate being able to clearly visualize my plans and responsibilities, and the larger format gives me the space I need to stay organized while adding a little style to my planning routine. I also think planners like this can be especially helpful for other people with ADHD who are looking for a practical way to stay organized.
After leaving Staples, I headed over to Hobby Lobby. During the vlog, I also shared that I have decided to stop vlogging inside retail stores. Over time, I realized that filming while shopping requires me to constantly be aware of my surroundings and everything happening around me, which can make the experience stressful and distracting. For privacy and safety reasons, I no longer feel comfortable recording inside stores and have chosen to focus my vlogs on other parts of my day instead.
Overall, this was a simple but productive day. Between celebrating my birthday, picking up a new planner, and sharing some updates about my vlogging journey, I enjoyed taking everyone along and look forward to getting organized for the year ahead.
